Your mind is the greatest asset you have at your disposal as it gives you the power to choose what you will do with your life. You can choose life or death, blessing or cursing and with each choice you make comes certain consequences. It is through your mind that some people are able to achieve more than others even though they have the same talent and in some cases less talent.
The late South African political activist Steve Biko once said, “The greatest weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.” There is little you can accomplish in life if you do not use your mind to the best of its ability. Through effective use of the mind dictators in history have manipulated the masses to their own advantage.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” ~ Deuteronomy 30:19
Most people by not being diligent to think with their minds have suffered misery, poverty and other ills that they would not have had to experience if they had chosen otherwise. You have the power to choose the direction your life will take if you so choose.
Are you one of those people that suffer imprisonment in their mind? I have a few pointers to share that may indicate whether or not you are. They are as follows:
1. You hardly question anything
You may or may not be aware of the New World Order agenda, a small group of people whose desire is to control the world for its own benefit. One of their strategies is to train people to not think for themselves and just take orders. This alone is contrary to God’s Word because no man was designed to have dominion over another but to have dominion over the earth.
They dominate the masses by dumbing them down and believe it or not one of their strategies is through the fluoride toothpaste that dumbs down the brain particularly the pineal gland that is responsible for sensing things that normally cannot be seen with the naked eye.
The media that is portrayed by those who control it is distorted making the masses believe a lie. What you see or listen to in the media is only what they choose to let you know while the truth remains hidden from you. Living in ignorance of the truth is not bliss, it will kill you.
Ignorance has led many well-meaning hardworking employees to live in poverty having not accomplished much. Parents have lost their children to wayward behavior because they did not take the time to monitor the music their children listen to.
What to do: Question everything. Do not accept everything at face value. Measure everything you read or listen to against the true and living Word of God. It will save you a lot of heartache.
2. Not keeping an open mind
A closed mind is damaging and will limit your potential significantly. This is usually the result of holding on to certain beliefs that keep you stuck in one place. All it takes is taking into consideration all the options at your disposal to accomplish a goal. You may find that the answers you were looking for were right under your nose.
Think of a hot air balloon for example. It can only soar through the sky if it is open. Your mind is the same meaning that it can only fully function when it is open.
What to do: surround yourself with people that can inspire you with new ideas and different thought patterns. It will make a huge difference.
3. Fear of expression
As mentioned in the first point most people are trained from a young age starting from elementary school all the way to corporate world to take orders. That is how the employee mindset is cultivated until it becomes a fixed part of your life until you choose to break out of it.
For the most part in school you are taught that the teacher is always right yet that is not always the case. So even when you have a different point of view to your superior that may be a better solution to a problem you may find it hard to express it for fear of being ridiculed.
The sad thing about the school environment and most companies is that you get discouraged from making mistakes. To illustrate this difference I read somewhere that the large and successful companies in Silicon Valley have a mantra that says, “Fail fast, fail often.” They celebrate their successes because with each failure they learn something that will make them better.
Avoiding failure at all costs causes you not to grow and resigns you to an unfulfilling life.
What to do: have the awareness that you are unique and will not think the same as everyone. Your uniqueness is what the world needs therefore let it come out and shine.
4. You look to external forces for change
If you depend on external circumstances to make progress with your life it is a good indicator that you have given up the power to choose the direction of your life. For the most part you cannot control what happens around you but you can choose how you respond.
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” ~ 1 John 4:4
When the Word of God says you are more than a conqueror it means what it says. You have the power to choose what your life will be in spite of the negative circumstances besetting you in the present moment. It means taking responsibility for yourself and not blaming your misfortune on someone or something other than you.
What to do: Study what the Word of God says about you and realize that you have everything you need to change your own life.
