I’ve recently been reflecting on where I am with my goals for the year and realized that most of them are yet to be accomplished. Life has a way of getting in the way and distracting us from our goals but it’s also not a valid reason for not doing what we know we are supposed to do. Of all the goals for this year the only one I’ve completed is an online course I did a few months ago which I’m happy about.
Who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” ~ Hebrews 8:5
I’m encouraged to push harder and overcome obstacles to achieve the remaining ones. I read the above scripture two days ago about Moses and I got a new perspective on the callings God has placed on each of our lives. Moses received clear instruction from God about how to build the tabernacle when He spent time with Him on Mount Sinai. Similarly, we spend time in prayer and worship to God and He gives us revelation of what He would have us do.
The problem is that what He calls you to do may not make sense in your current situation and the tendency is to then abandon the instruction and continue with life as usual.
“Hold fast to your dreams, for if dreams die, then life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.” ~ Langston Hughes
Always remember that His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. Trust whatever God reveals to you as you worship Him. In a world that’s turning upside down our ways of doing things that we’re familiar with cannot change our situation. What God is calling you to do may just be a solution to so many problems and change numerous people’s lives.
My senior pastor has a saying that goes, “Your call is the answer to the fall.” You will never know how many lives you can change unless you pursue your calling. At this point I call you to reflect on the above lesson and reflect on your own goals.
Ask yourself the following:
- What has God called me to do that I have been putting off?
- What do I need to do to get the required focus to push on?
- Do I trust God to be true to His Word?
The good news is that we still have time before the year comes to an end so it’s a wonderful opportunity to re-organize yourself and get going with your goals. Do your part and God will do the rest. Trust in His grace to bring to completion the good work He has begun you.
