How To Identify Your Purpose In Life

How To Identify Your Purpose In Life

- in Life, Success

I was recently at a personal development training event with the goal of being equipped with the skills and mindset required to fulfil my potential. I had quite a lot of fun as I spent it with like-minded people but more importantly I got an understanding of the gaps in my own life that need to be filled. It was like having a mirror being placed in front of me and seeing my life for what it really is.

Perhaps you have had such an experience yourself and felt discouraged with where you are in your life and it’s in our human nature to do that. Instead of feeling hopeless I got excited because at least now I know what I need to do in order to fulfil the dreams that God put in my heart. Knowing the truth sets us free like it says in the Bible (John 8:32)

“An unexamined life is one that is not worth living.” ~ Socrates

Most people live life passively without any form of direction which is unfortunate. It is good to know that we are all created with a specific purpose to fulfil as revealed by God. When you live a life that is purpose driven you become that much happier like nothing else can make you happy. Most of us growing up were programmed in certain ways and have lived with it until this point in our lives.

I remember someone who once put it this way, “We are born to win but programmed to lose.

One of the critical things to understand is that you don’t live a successful and meaningful life by just waiting for fate, or things to happen. You have to go out, fight and claim your inheritance because things don’t just happen. As you get to understand yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, desires you begin to see what your purpose in life might be. For some people they get to know their purpose early in life while for others in their older ways.

Be your own voice and listen to what God is saying to you through the Holy Spirit. Many people, even close family, may not take you seriously when you share your ambitions and desires with them. Do not let them sway. Don’t look to others for approval except God because ultimately He is the one who knows where He is taking you. You are unique individual and as you begin to meditate on the Word of God and spend time in prayer He will begin to reveal to you His life purpose for you.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11

At times it’s just a leap of faith that you need to take to step into the great things God has in store for you. Definitely share this post with friends on social media and leave your comments below. We would love to hear from you.
