What Happened to the Good Men?

What Happened to the Good Men?

- in Life

“After World War I, Germany became known as a fatherless nation. So many dads died in the war that the youth had few fathers, role models or disciplinarians. Without fathers, those children were without a heritage. The significance of this can be seen in a statement by Lenin: Take away the heritage of a people and they are easily persuaded.”
~ Extract from the book, “Absolute Answers to Prodigal Problems”

When you read the Bible you may notice that whenever God wanted to do a great work in His people He would call upon a man to lead the others to accomplish His purpose. Some of the examples are King David, Moses, Solomon, Paul, Jesus and Joshua. Rarely did He call upon a woman to do so, and for a distinct reason.

1 Corinthians 11:7 says, “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.” Most of the problems we are facing in the world today can be traced to the shortage of godly men. My pastor normally says that if he can touch a man? heart he can touch his family. When solid family structures exist we have better societies, better nations and as a result a better world.

I’m sure most of us understand what happens when men don’t take responsibility for their lives and in society. A culture seems to have developed where most people are looking out for their own interests which results in greed. Greed is evident all around the world today. Other problems that have arisen include anger, violence, gangs, pornography among young people, etc.

Society is crying out (maybe in not so many words), “Where did all the good men go?” If you call yourself a man realize that God gave you a massive responsibility to shoulder, not by yourself however, because His grace is sufficient for us all. Men are to be a reflection of God here on earth ?loving and leading their families in Christ, providing, protecting, disciplining, and perhaps one of the most important traits, being men of character.

From what I’ve seen gangs are really just a haven where the members feel they belong because that’s often not the case in their homes. Due to the desire to be loved or belong they do anything to fit in otherwise they are cut off from the gang. Love as defined by God should be unconditional and demonstrated in the home by the father. When a man’s life is in alignment with God you can expect that everyone around him will be touched and affected in a positive way.

The video above is a clip from a movie called Courageous and illustrates the profound impact on other people when a man aligns himself with God. Men let’s rise up and be the men God created us to become. It starts with you!
In all that you do remember the words of Ed Cole, who was known as the father of modern manhood,

Manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous.

We? definitely like to get your views on this subject. It will help us and many other people to address this predicament we are facing in the world today. If you found this information helpful share it with your circles on social media that they may also benefit. Until next time,

Be all you can be!
