We are living in tough times, much tougher than ten or more years ago when life was a bit more reasonable. The challenges that are present today have caused a lot of suffering in our nation and all over the world. I have a Google alerts feed that I receive almost everyday on certain topics and I saw a trend in many of the stories that I read.
People have generally lost hope in our government given the recent job losses which has led to many other challenges. Suicides, broken marriages, hunger and immorality are the order of the day as a result. On one of the articles I read someone did state that they have really lost hope and didn’t know where to look to for hope for their future.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” ~ Hebrews 4:16
The question you might have then is, “Where do I turn to for help when everything else fails?” The answer is simple (note that I didn’t say easy), we should turn to the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our salvation, who became poor so that we would be rich in every way, who came to give us life and life in abundance.
God truly cares about you. He created you in His perfect image after all. It is right for us to repent and ask Him for forgiveness whenever we go astray but that should never stop us from believing that we can no longer ask Him for anything. That thought pattern comes from Satan whose only purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came so that you can have life and have it more abundantly.
Keep in mind what 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Perhaps he is calling you to do something new at this time. What may have worked before may not work in the present environment. Accept him as the Lord and Saviour of your life and listen to what he? calling you to do. When you have Jesus on your side you are much stronger than you think.
“Satan trembles when he sees the weakest Christian on his knees.” ~ William Cowper
While we live in the world we are more than conquerors because Jesus Christ conquered the world therefore since we are co-heirs with him we also have the victory and can conquer any obstacle that comes our way. This is the believer’s authority. If you felt that this may be the end for you, it may just be the beginning of greater things as you walk with the Lord.
