People live life in totally different ways and tend to have different outcomes as a result. The common thing with everyone is that we all go through similar experiences so it only means that people respond to life in totally different ways. I’ve met people who are miserable half the time; their lives are laborious even though they may achieve their goals to some measure.
I have come across others as well that no matter what they go through life is a joy and they make the most out of all the experiences they go through no matter their level of success. Such people are always fun to be around and make life worth living. In this post I would like to go through a few of the traits such people have and I trust they will be of benefit to you.
1. Begin with the end in mind
Whatever you set out to achieve believe that it is already yours; be sold on the idea that you are going to get it no matter what you have to go through to get there. Our actions should line up with what we believe about our dream. I learned a very important concept from my mentors some time ago i.e. the concept of Be, Do, Have
What this basically means is that you should act like the person you envision, do what they do and you will have what they have.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” ~ Jeremiah 1:5
2. Enjoy the ride
Whatever your mission is in life make sure that it? something you enjoy. Something that whether or not you get paid for it you would gladly do. A lot of people make the mistake of pursuing a career or business just for the monetary gains but they never last really because money alone is not a big enough motivator than the desire or love for something.
“I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor-it is the gift of God.” ~ Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
You have to enjoy the process of the work that you do especially in the difficult times because that is what will keep you going. Besides when you just focus on the end result you miss a lot of things along the way that can shape you and also bring joy through your journey.
3. Reflect on the milestones
Looking back on your life and the experiences you have been through reveal God’s goodness and bring to mind memories that last a lifetime. When you are on your death bed it’s these memories that will come to mind and bring a smile to your face.
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”~ 1 Samuel 7:12
Life should not be endured but enjoyed. I hope these 3 points will make you enjoy life more than ever. We only have one chance at life after all so let’s make the best of it. Feel free to share your comments below and share with your friends using the social media buttons on the page.
