If asked where you can find prisoners the most obvious place you will say is in prison cells in your city or anywhere around the country. Those are easy to identify because the uniform gives it away. Successful people may have a good idea of where to find another category.

You can also see the other category of prisoners in everyday life. Some of them wear expensive suits and seem to have everything going great in their lives.

Not everything you see in the natural is the truth however and if you dig deeper you will find that most people live like prisoners.

The major difference with the ordinary prisoner is that this other category of prisoners are imprisoned in their mind. If you think you’re imprisoned in your mind here are some ways you can break out of it.

1. Know God’s purpose and pursue it

One of the ways the enemy keeps you in bondage is by keeping you blinded from knowing God’s purpose for your life. When you have no direction you can fall for anything in the process allowing the devil to manipulate you. It’s easy to fall prey to anything and everything so you must seek God in order to understand your life’s purpose.

What differentiates successful people from those that live average lives is that they have clarity of purpose and a game plan to achieve success. You’re not supposed to lead your own life but instead be a follower of Jesus Christ who will lead your life. He already has a plan for your life and your only job is to discover and follow it – that is the key to success.

To discover God’s purpose for your life you must make Him Lord over your life, seek Him in prayer and meditate on His word. You will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.

2. Embrace your uniqueness

Sometimes you may know God’s purpose for your life but may feel out of place because it doesn’t seem to be like other people’s life purpose. God may be calling you to do something that is not known by many people or seems strange to them. Other people may start asking whether you’re in your right sense of mind which may lead you to anxiety.

Even if other people don’t understand what you’re doing it doesn’t make you any less of a person because if God is at the centre of it you will prosper. Successful people are not swayed from their purpose by other people’s opinions. They trust that their God-inspired plans will prosper and that they are unique.

Don’t worry if you don’t seem to be doing what everyone else is doing. You are unique and have an assignment that can only be carried out by you. That makes you special and not weird as some people might make you feel.

3. Question everything

Às a follower of Jesus Christ you have the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your steps as you go through your daily life. Some things may appear correct on the surface level but when you dig deeper you may find that they’re contrary to the truth of God’s word. One of the things you must question is the education system that is designed to create zombies that take instructions all their lives.

Being successful depends on your level of curiosity about why certain things are done the way they are done. Average people accept everything that comes their way without bothering to find out why. Are there things in your life that can be done better that you don’t like? Are there harmful family beliefs you have adopted just because you were told that’s how life is?

Successful people avoid being passive and are aware of who they are and their surroundings. Ask what the word of God says about everything that is of concern to your life and your loved ones.

4. Seek truth

Knowing the truth about your identity in Christ, the Kingdom of God, the devil’s ways and the corrupt nature of the world’s systems is imperative. It will help you strategize how to live the life of freedom in Christ God desires for you. Simply not knowing the truth leads to deception and hence bondage. :

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” ~ John 8:32

When you know the truth you can achieve success as a result. Knowing the truth about God’s sovereignty should help you overcome fear for example. You will know that He has your best interests at heart no matter what your situation might look like.

Understanding the truth gives you the confidence to face any situation that arises knowing that you will be in a better place on the other side of that situation. Successful people read widely and therefore know the strategies for success in their endeavours.

5. Follow people who inspire

People with similar beliefs and values tend to hang around each other whether they are empowering or defeating. That’s why for example you don’t see rich people hanging around poor people and vice versa. Poor people have disempowering beliefs and are comfortable in that space while the rich have empowering beliefs.

Reflect on your closest associations because that is what you are becoming. To become a successful person find other successful people who have what you want and do what they do.

In saying what they have isn’t just in terms of material things. It could be you want to model their positive attitude and morality.

In whatever field that you’re pursuing success find out who the experts are and learn from them. In this day and age you can even follow such people online by subscribing to their social channels even if you may never meet them in person.

6. Healthy lifestyle

Eating healthy and keeping your body in good shape plays a role in becoming free. You may not know this but in the brain there’s a gland called the pineal gland which is like a sixth sense that raises your awareness about things you don’t see with the natural eye. It helps you sense things in the spiritual realm and hence make you aware of things the devil may be trying to use to destroy your life.

This may sound controversial but toothpastes that contain fluoride are produced on a mass scale for the purpose of dulling people’s senses. Fluoride in toothpaste dulls the pineal gland so that you’re not aware of the world agendas trying to keep you subdued like a prisoner. Eating healthy foods also helps to activate the pineal gland.

You may want to do your own research to investigate this subject further and come to your own conclusions.
